how it works
everything the kitchen does to you, in short sections. if you just want to play, !getstarted in chat is the fast version.
the basics
getting soup
!soup gives you a bowl. !soup @someone hands them one. you both earn xp.
order a bowl with channel points to pull something new. 5 a night, then the kitchen cuts you off.
duplicates turn into broth. nothing in here goes to waste.
xp
10 xp for your first serve of the night. 5 for each new person you serve, up to 2. 5 each time someone serves you, up to 2. 60 a night and you're done.
every serve tells you how far you are from lord. all of it lands on whatever you're serving.
- first serve of the night
- 10 xp
- each new person you serve
- 5 xp, up to 2 people
- each time someone serves you
- 5 xp, up to 2 times
- a night, total
- 60 xp
levels
each soup levels on its own, ten levels. level 10 is lord.

lords
200 xp on one soup and you're its lord. lords serve better: get served by one and you get bonus xp. lord a soup and its effect doubles.
every lord you hold makes the next one about 6% cheaper, down to a floor of 60 xp. the first is the hard one.
lording a common is worth more than lording a rare. more people own it, so more people want it from you by name.
losing xp
a spill, or jeff getting to the bowl first, costs you that serve's xp. that's the whole risk. it's also why every effect with the word spill in it is worth having.
what you're serving
!swap <soup> changes what you're serving. only that soup earns xp, and only its effect is on.
your collection is your options. what you're serving is your build.
effects raise your ceiling, not your rate. lording a soup doubles its effect. the full list is on the effects page.
broth
where broth comes from
pull a soup you already own and the kitchen hands you broth instead. rarer dupe, more broth.
every serve that counts is +1 broth on top. some effects spill it, some pocket it from the person you serve.
- duplicate common
- 5 broth
- duplicate uncommon
- 15 broth
- duplicate rare
- 50 broth
- duplicate legendary
- 200 broth
- duplicate mythic
- 500 broth
- any serve that counts
- +1 broth
crafting
!craft <soup> spends broth on a soup you don't have. rare can't be crafted until someone in chat has actually pulled one.
legendary and mythic can't be crafted at all. you pull one or you don't. that's what makes pulling one mean something.
- common
- 20 broth
- uncommon
- 60 broth
- rare
- 250 broth, after a discovery
- legendary
- can't
- mythic
- can't
discovery
the first person in chat to pull a soup discovers it. the kitchen announces it, it goes in discord, and the counter goes up one of 67.
a discovery is permanent. it's yours in september and it's yours in three years.
free pulls
some serves come with a free pull for the person you served. !freepull uses it.
when someone gifts subs, the kitchen opens a !giftsoup window for everyone: better odds, free pulls that don't count against your five, and the gifter's name on every bowl.
where broth goes
crafting, mostly. and !feedjeff, which costs 25 broth and is the only thing that calms him down.
jeff
jeff's mood
jeff has a mood, 0 to 100, and it's the same jeff for everyone. it drops on its own over time. the hungrier he is, the more soup he eats out of serves.
!feedjeff costs 25 broth. how much it helps depends on how hungry he was. a fed jeff occasionally blesses a serve instead of eating it. !jeff tells you where he's at.
you can't get rid of jeff. you can only manage him. nothing he eats is gone for good.
the kitchen
the roll
every serve rolls once. usually nothing happens. sometimes:
- golden ladle
- 0.5%. you're instantly the lord of what you're serving
- hot pot
- 5%. this serve pays triple
- burnt batch
- 3%. this serve pays nothing
- overflow
- 3%. this serve ignores your cap
- double shift
- 2%. another soup you own gains too
- jeff's blessing
- once a night. someone in chat gets +25 on their soup
events
sometimes the kitchen does something on its own. no warning.
- spilled pot
- first 10 to type
MOPget xp, cap or no cap - jeff's ult
- jeff swallows someone. it takes 5 of you typing
SPITto get them back. they come out holding a random soup - outbreak
- anyone who types catches whatever's going around
